Parent Child Classes: Birth to Age 3

Parents with children in outdoor class setting

FOREST AND FARM PARENT CHILD GARDEN

SUMMER/FALL 2020

Our world is a little different but now more than ever, young children and their parents still need to see their friends and find community. Young children are sweet and open – full of imagination and wonder. For young children to grow into the self-assured beings we wish to see, we need to meet them where they are now, while gently leading them in a way that is developmentally appropriate. Parent Child Garden classes provide a joyful and nurturing environment for the young child to explore, imagine, and create in nature. Parents will learn ways to intuitively guide their child, bringing more ease and warmth to their connection and allowing the parenting journey to be more inspired and more harmonious.

Information for each of the class offerings is below, but registration is at this link, which will take you to a new website.

COVID-19 Guidelines
  • Our classes will be held outside in all weather. In the event of inclement weather we will have a place to shelter or provide a rain date.
  • We have all been in our own little worlds for so very long. Everyone has met this challenge in their own way, and no doubt everyone’s beliefs vary. We are coming together in community and love for these beautiful children and support for each other. The children will feel this love and support if we can stay mindful and calm together.
  • Together we will create a safe and nourishing experience for the children that is compassionate and respectful of each family’s needs. Each class will discuss ahead of time if we wish to become a little pod where children can flow freely among each other or if we prefer to keep distancing guidelines.
  • If distancing, with a consistent rhythm and through loving imitation, children are able to trust the boundaries that are created by their parents, teacher and greater community. Please bring any questions and concerns to Ms. Somer.
  • We will uphold the mask guidelines according to Hawthorne Valley School as provided by NY state. Adults, please wear your masks when not distancing and when inside and outside the public areas of Hawthorne Valley Farm and School.
  • Please do not attend if you, your child or anyone in your family shows signs of illness or is recovering from illness. Please self-quarantine for two weeks after illness or travel before joining classes.
