Eligibility

Grade 1: Children are eligible to apply for Grade 1 when they will be 6 years old by June 1 of the year they plan to enroll.

Grades 2-8: Children currently home-schooled or enrolled in private or public schools are eligible to apply for Grades 2-8.

If there are spaces available, students are eligible to apply for admission anytime during the school year.

 

Deadlines

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling and space-available basis.

 

Application

Hawthorne Valley uses Blackbaud to process online applications. Create your login and the system will guide you through the process of submitting your application and uploading reports. Once your documents are reviewed and approved, we will reach out with details for next steps.

 

Process

Grade 1: Once your child’s application is received, the rising Grade 1 teacher will contact you to set up a meeting with you and your child.

After your meeting, the rising Grade 1 teacher will follow up with an email notifying you of your child’s acceptance status. If your child is accepted, you will then be sent an enrollment agreement via email from the school’s registrar and a request for a deposit to hold your child’s space.

Grades 2-8: Once the parent application, the student’s written application, and the student’s school records are received, the school admissions director will contact you to set up a two- to three-day classroom visit for your child — and a time for a meeting with you and the teacher.

After the student’s visit and your meeting with the teacher, you will be notified by the school’s admissions director of your child’s acceptance status. If your child is accepted, a start date will be established, and you will then be sent an enrollment agreement via email from the school’s registrar and a request for a deposit to hold your child’s space.
