On Thursday, December 7th, Hawthorne Valley School distinguished alumnus and renowned cellist Julian Müller (’11) performed in a concert at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City. The concert was part of the Mannes Sounds Festival 2017 where young musicians make their New York solo performance debut. Julian performed the Polonaise Brilliante in C major, op 3 by Frederic Chopin, one of nine virtuosic pieces performed that evening.
Since 1999, Mannes has presented a yearlong music festival every year. Each festival includes more than 20 events performed by the school’s gifted young student artists, distinguished faculty members, and renowned guests, at prestigious New York City concert venues and cultural institutions. The festivals are an outstanding component of the total Mannes program.
