Midsummer Festival of Puppetry Arts
A Collaborative Showcase
We welcome you to join us, from the comfort of your own location, for a virtual celebration of the gifts of storytelling and puppetry arts in a Midsummer Festival of Puppetry Arts! In lieu of our East Coast conference because of pandemic restrictions, this year we invite artists, educators, and therapists who are working out of Waldorf inspiration to share their essential work with others! Our event will open at 1pm (ET) on July 25th with an exploration of the theme, “Imaginal Forces and the Power of Healing,” to be followed by short video clips of puppet story presentations and a reflection from their creators.
Donations to this event will support the formation of an association for threefold storytelling and puppetry arts. For more information, please contact Marjorie Rehbach.
For people registering for the festival or joining the association after 7am ET on July 25th, you will receive a recording instead of the live event. We will let you know when that will be ready for viewing. Of course joining the association is an ongoing opportunity!
Opening: (Live streaming) Janene Ping will share thoughts on the theme: “Imaginal Forces and the Power of Healing”
View: (pre-submitted) puppetry/storytelling videos from near and far…
Conclusion: An interactive reflection forum with the performers
One of our goals for this event is to raise funds to rekindle efforts to build a:
WORLD ASSOCIATION OF PUPPETRY AND STORYTELLING ARTS
MISSION: We strive to connect, share, and explore with a diverse and inclusive community of puppetry and storytelling enthusiasts, who are inspired by Waldorf/Steiner Education.
VISION: We wish to foster, with this joyful work, well-being in body, soul, and spirit; activating the highest forces of self-healing through imaginative vision.
