Children’s Clothing & Gear Swap
In an effort to share community resources—and hopefully require less shopping and spending this back-to-school season—we’re holding an All-School Clothing Swap at the Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School on Thursday and Friday, September 21-22. As you sort through your kids’ outgrown clothing, rain and winter gear, shoes, and so on, pack some bags* and bring them to school!
Drop off bagged* items on Wednesday, September 20 at the Porch of Sports Shed (red shed near the parking lot, facing the stream – please see photo below).
- Please limit donations to early childhood through teens (no adult clothing, toys, books, pet items). Rain gear, snow gear, and sports cleats encouraged.
- Ask yourself, “Wear or Rag?” Please don’t donate items that are stained, ripped, or damaged. If you wouldn’t wear them, don’t donate them. Think of repurposing them for rags!
You do not have to donate to come and take stuff. The more takers the better!
On Thursday and Friday, September 21-22, everything will be laid out for the taking under the School Pavilion. Don’t forget to bring your own bags to fill.
Any items not swapped will be donated.
We are so excited for this sustainable, community effort—and excited to clean out our kids’ closets! For any questions or offers to lend a hand, reach out to Andra Miller at 917-865-7108 or by email.
