Harvest Festival!
Join us in Celebration of the fall harvest and community!
Throughout the day, there will be seasonal children’s activities, a farm photo booth, an exhibition of artwork by Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School alumni, Birds of Prey wildlife demonstrations, a Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School Open House, and more.
At 10:30 am, 11:30 am, and 1 pm, a puppet show, “The Seed Keeper’s Crossing,” will be presented in the Morning Star Kindergarten Theater. The Hawthorne Valley Early Childhood teachers will use silk marionette theater to tell the story of a little child living in a beautiful paradise, wondering if life is like his in other places.
The Makers Market will feature a variety of local artisans including Double M G Crochet, Peglet Life, The Promise Land Farm, Helen Suter Jewelry, Amanda Hummel Cookies, Flowering Heart, Pamela Dalton, TEKVERK, Lionheart Apothecary, Jenifer Rosete, April Saladino Designs, Shannon Beaucage, Meghan Forrest Apiary, Maple Leaf Sugaring, Hawthorne Valley Farm, Alkion Center, and Lightforms Art Center.
Food will be available for purchase from What’s Really Good BBQ, Urugula’s Creative Cuisine, and The Waffle Trailer. We also have a great line up of live music from The Kitchen Kaylie Band, The Russet Trio, and Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School’s Chamber Music Ensemble.
Following the Festival, at 2 pm, Katy Lince will host a horn manure stirring and spraying at Hawthorne Valley Farm. Members of the public who are interested in learning more about biodynamic agriculture are invited to join us.
