Early childhood through grade 12

Hawthorne Valley Association

“…a profound starting point for people everywhere is to focus not simply on lengthening time but on regenerating place. We must restore and repair and care for the planetary home that will take care of our offspring. For our children and our children’s children, let us all be inspired by the beautiful Mohawk blessing spoken when a child is born –

Thank you, Earth. You know the way.”

~ Roman Krznaric, The Good Ancestor: A Radical Prescription for Long-Term Thinking

We are committed to doing our part to safeguard Waldorf education and ensure Hawthorne Valley’s resilience ecologically, socially, and economically in the years ahead. With your help we hope to raise $250,000 to make future-bearing improvements that will help us reduce our carbon footprint, save energy costs, improve biodiversity on and around our campus, and expand our curriculum to include cutting-edge education around sustainability, zero waste, and other regenerative practices.

Net Positive. It is an organizational sustainability approach that puts back more into society, the environment, and the global economy than it takes out. The type of work your donation will make possible include:

Net+ Education – Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging; Climate and Eco-Literacy

Net+ Employment – Living Wage for Teachers; Compassionate Work/Life Balance

Net+ Campus – Safe, Healthy, Zero Carbon Buildings

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we invite you to join us in this campaign and make a meaningful investment in the future of our school and our planet. Your generosity will help us continue to educate and empower our students for the future, and we are deeply grateful for your partnership.
