Community Puppet Storytime Series
Hawthorne Valley’s early childhood educators will be special guests at area library and playgroup story hours in early March, where they will lead a special story told with the magic of puppets. The dates and times for the Community Puppet Storytime series are as follows:
- Friday, March 3, 10:15 a.m., Chatham Library, 11 Woodbridge Ave., Chatham
- Saturday, March 4, 11 a.m., Hudson Area Library, 51 N. 5th St., Hudson
- Tuesday, March 7, 10 a.m., The Morris Memorial Building*, Park Row, Hudson
- Wednesday, March 8, 10 a.m., Christ Church Episcopal*, 431 Union Street, Hudson
The school’s new first grade teacher, Marie Conroe will collaborate with early childhood colleagues to lead the special story telling. The morning will include a story, music and crafts. There will also be time for parents to learn about Waldorf early childhood curriculum.
Marie Conroe will lead the upcoming first grade class at HVS beginning in the Fall of 2017. Conroe’s work in Waldorf-inspired education initiatives in Brazil and Japan influenced her pursuit of teaching as a vocation. She has a B.S. in Entrepreneurship & Sociology from Northeastern University, and M.Ed. & Waldorf Teaching Certificate from Antioch University New England, and is a former Waldorf student.

Early Childhood Puppets & Tea
On Saturday, April 1, (9:30-11 a.m.) there will be a special morning offering a glimpse into the magic of Waldorf early childhood curriculum. There will be poems, stories, songs and puppetry, followed by a farm-to-table tea featuring Hawthorne Valley fare. Pre-registration is required. Please contact Janene Ping to register.
