Cultivating the Will & Building Resilience
Part of the Hickory Program Speaker Series
Join us on Thursday, April 11 at 7:30pm for a talk with Dr. Steven Johnson on “Cultivating the Will & Building Resilience.”
In this talk, Dr. Johnson will discuss how education, physical, and sensory nourishment impact our Will, and how our ability engender faith, love, and hope forges a foundation for resilience in life. He will also speak to questions that are very present for educators and parents today, including:
- How do we inspire the will to do good work and take interest in the world?
- What can we do to support our children and prevent depression, anxiety, and apathy?
- How does this affect our resilience and capacities for self-regulation and self-healing through out our lives?
This talk is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to support the Hickory Program at Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School, which offers Integrated Holistic Education Support to students through small group instruction, tutoring, and more.
